Community Empowerment

HIV and AIDS counseling in the Maasai community is a highly specialized area, focusing on culturally sensitive approaches to overcome taboos, stigma, and nomadic lifestyles that limit access to care. Efforts involve community health workers, mobile clinics, and partnerships with traditional leaders to deliver Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT), antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence counseling, and education, with a particular focus on empowering women and youth in Loita Narok county.
